Three Pilot Projects in Mexico for Dimonoff
Dimonoff is proud to announce its partnership with the Mexican government to install three smart lighting pilot projects in various cities in Mexico over the next 12 months.
Sponsored by the Mexican National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE), this technological initiative was launched with the objective of demonstrating a smart lighting system for Mexico and testing new technologies that would generate future savings in energy consumption and maintenance costs.
In partnership with DyH Mexicana S.A de C.V, a first pilot project was installed in Ciudad Juárez in March 2021. Spread over two main arteries in this city, all external RME nodes installed will be managed by the urban asset management and control platform, Dimonoff | SCMS, which can allow CONUEE officials to remotely configure, monitor and control all these connected devices in real time. Here’s a glimpse of the installation of this pilot project in Ciudad Juárez:
According to CONUEE, Mexico has more than 10 million street lighting fixtures, of which about 6.2 million are inefficient or have the potential to be replaced by energy-saving equipment that reduces electricity consumption.
Dimonoff’s lighting solution allows each streetlight to be managed autonomously and centrally on a single platform. Thus, the Dimonoff | SCMS system maps all connected assets in the project and can detect their operating status instantly, effectively resolving any anomalies that may occur such as electrical failures or power outages. In addition, this project will give the authorities the possibility to adjust the lighting of all connected streetlights or just specific group of lights, allowing them to measure the evolution of the electricity consumption of these devices in real time.
Additionally, the Dimonoff | SCMS platform will soon be installed in a second Mexican city. The installation of this second CONUEE pilot project will start in May 2021 in the city of Tlaltenango, where Dimonoff RME external nodes will be installed once again with the collaboration of DyH Mexicana. A third pilot project will also be installed during the summer of 2021 in the city of Guadalajara.
