The City of L’Assomption recently undertook a project to convert their aging street lighting system with 679 new LED lights equipped with Dimonoff’s intelligent wireless controls. The City also opted for 3000K directional lighting, which will significantly reduce light pollution and intrusive light in residences. Having started at the end of last year, the installation of the new LED lights and the implementation of the remote-control system are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2021.
In addition, the integration of the Dimonoff | SCMS intelligent lighting management and control system will allow the City of L’Assomption to remotely manage all of its lighting fixtures in real time, to optimize operations management and reduce maintenance needs. This project will result in annual energy and maintenance savings of approximately $44,378. From an environmental perspective, the City will also benefit from an estimated annual reduction in GHG emissions of 171.17 tCO2 (calculated according to EPA standards).

The City of L’Assomption’s smart lighting project is part of an initiative by the Fédération québécoise des municipalités (FQM) that offers more than 200 cities and municipalities in Quebec the opportunity to modernize their urban lighting network by switching to LED technology. In partnership with Dimonoff and Énergère, the main objective of this project is to implement an efficient, safe and environmentally friendly public lighting network. Thanks to this initiative, cities of all sizes now have access to the same systems as large metropolises and can significantly reduce their annual street lighting and maintenance costs.
