Dimonoff at the Heart of a Smart Lighting Project for the Borough of Saint-Laurent
The borough of Saint-Laurent is converting 10,100 existing public street lights to light-emitting diodes (LEDs). This electrical project is part of Saint-Laurent’s 2021-2030 Ten-Year Capital Plan. With a budget of $97 million, this plan aims, in particular, to improve the energy efficiency of this borough of the city of Montreal.
"[Saint-Laurent] integrates sustainable development and environmental protection into all its decisions. The conversion of thousands of our lighting fixtures to LEDs will significantly improve the energy efficiency of our streets. We are already seeing significant benefits in terms of energy savings. Once again, we are investing to implement innovative and concrete solutions to fight against the climate emergency" said Alain DeSousa, Mayor of Saint-Laurent.

Large-Scale Smart Street Lighting
The Saint-Laurent lighting project is part of the City of Montreal’s extensive smart streetlight conversion project which consists in converting more than 132,000 streetlights in 19 boroughs to LED, for a total investment of $110M. To manage all of these new smart lights, the city selected Dimonoff | SCMS, a powerful platform that maps a city’s connected assets and devices and instantly detects their operating status, allowing for efficient resolution of power outages or any other possible malfunction. This technology also allows to adjust the brightness of all or part of the streetlights and to measure the evolution of their power consumption in real time."We are proud to help Montreal become the reference for smart and digital cities. This major project will leverage innovative technologies in the development of a smart and sustainable city, in harmony with their vision and goals" said Bernard Têtu, president of Dimonoff.
