Dimonoff Featured on CBC’s TV Show “C’est fait ici”
On May 20th, Dimonoff was featured on the show “C’est fait ici”, presented by ICI Québec (CBC) which explores the avant-gardism and entrepreneurship of companies from the greater Quebec City area, all leaders in their respective industries.
For the 10th episode of the first season, host Bruno Savard joined the Dimonoff team to explore in detail the solutions and services offered by the company.
The show began with a look at Dimonoff’s crown jewel, the Smart Street Lighting Solution. Mr. Bernard Têtu, Dimonoff’s founding president, explains how the smart street lighting project with the City of Mississauga contributed to the company’s success and how such technology allows the control of an entire city’s lighting with the click of a mouse:
"Dimonoff is one of the 3 or 4 biggest manufacturers of smart lighting systems in the world right now. It's no longer just electricity electronics; it's intelligence electronics. It's about offering the ability to transport data over a private and secure network for control, monitoring, updating, and other additional features."
Mr. Bernard Têtu, Dimonoff's founding president
"We have saved about $100,000 per year in electricity costs, and we had replacement costs for halogen bulbs of about $50,000 per year, which we no longer have."
Mr. Sylvain Juneau, Mayor of the borough of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures
The show also focused on Dimonoff’s smart parking management system, an integral part of the company’s Mobility Solution. Some of the current projects were presented, including the pilot project on St. Joseph Street in partnership with the City of Quebec.
The Internet of Things (IoT) and Dimonoff’s engineering services were also documented in the show, which presented the Tero project, a connected household appliance capable of converting food waste into fertilizer for the soil. For this project, Dimonoff was mandated to develop the firmware inside the device:
"We developed the entire interface, including the mobile application and the connectivity to the cloud, which then allows for remote updates of the firmware while the device is installed at the customer's home.”
Daniel Noiseux, General Manager, Executive Vice President, Partner
All of these numerous projects and successes make Dimonoff one of the leading players in the global smart city and connected products market. As host Bruno Savard would say, “the genius of our region shines everywhere on the planet”.
